Lumbini is located in Rupandehi District, Lumbini Zone in the Terai region of Nepal. According to the new constitution of Nepal, Lumbini lies in the Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality of Province no. 05. Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, where queen Mayadevi gave birth buddha in the Lumbini garden. Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini Nepal in 563 B.C. Siddhartha Gautam (Gautam Buddha) Burn in Lumbini and he got knowledge in Bodhgaya, India. Buddha is famous all over the world because he is the founder of Buddhism.


This place is one of the world’s most famous spiritual sites and attracts Buddhist pilgrims in the world. many Buddhist and non-Buddhist peoples around the world are visited in Lumbini every year.

Before there was only one temple in Lumbini, Maya Devi temple but nowadays there are more than 30 temples you can see in Lumbini. Lumbini is the best place to study Buddhism. you can see Mayadevi Temple, Ashokan Pillar, Myanmar Golden Temple, world peace pagoda, Dharma Swami Maharaja Buddha Vihar, China temple, Lumbini Museum, Cambodian Monastery, royal Thai Buddhist Monastery, Korean Temple, Eternal Peace Flame, Maya Devi Pond, Sri Lankan monastery, Tilaurakot, etc.

Lumbini is 326 kilometers away from the capital city Kathmandu, while 167 kilometers from Pokhara and the sacred the place is just 25 kilometers away from the border of India. one can also fly directly to Bhairawa, Sidhartha Nagar from Kathmandu in half of an hour and  22 kilometers away from Bhairawa. The first terminus for visitors to Lumbini is Maya Devi temple or in other words, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. On the temple premises, there is a 5 ft tall statue of Lord Buddha’s mother Mahadevi. In the Scott, Maya Devi is standing and holding a vine of people tree. The Birthplace Of Gautam Buddha

The mother of Buddha, Maya Devi was “Kolya” girl. She had married king Suddhodhan. As per then customs to deliver her 1st child, she headed to Devdaha from Tilaurakot. On the way, she felt a labor pain, she drank water from the sacred pound. She walked a few steps and game birth to Siddhartha Gautam. just after being delivered, Sidhartha walked seven steps on a white Lotus and conveyed three Mantra. All gods and goddesses showered flowers on Siddhartha.

This temple has its relations with the sacred pond as well the Pond lies on the sound inside of the temple. The Lumbini garden which is a sprite across 1100 Bigha of land. teller river flows through the sacred garden the Buddhists Bihar and Shanti Dip whose flame burns all 24 hours as a symbol of world peace appears sensational in appearance or thrilling. with the permission from Lumbini development fund, different cultural sites and religious places are being built up more than 22 estates have constructed monasteries and trusters in a bead to spread the message of Buddhism and also to highlight their Nationals and Cultural Heritages.

Thousands of visitors come every day just to take a look at temples and monasteries near to the Lumbini garden. A museum has been established with the financial assistance of Japan. along with the Buddhist religion Research Center which is expected to be transformed as an International Research Center down the road.
